Project background
Pengcheng Laboratory is a new scientific research institution in the field of network communication in China and an important part of the national strategic scientific and technological force. In order to build China's "Marine three-dimensional communication network demonstration and verification platform", in response to the strategic needs of the national Marine power and the "Belt and Road", Pengcheng Laboratory needs more computing resources to support scientific research projects in the direction of network communication, cyberspace and network intelligence. The purpose of the "South China Sea Three-dimensional Communication Network Demonstration and Verification Platform" project is to explore and study a new communication network architecture and technology applicable to the Marine environment, radiate the South China Sea, serve the national Marine power strategy, and build a three-dimensional communication network for the large region and time span of the South China Sea.
Demand challenge
The communication network speed in the South China Sea is only equivalent to the level of land 30 years ago, and the research of the project is of great significance to national defense construction, Marine fisheries, tourism and so on. For example, the communication equipment at sea is no longer limited to satellite phones, and the use of mobile phone calls or video is also expected to be realized.
