Project background

  • The college has three campuses, namely the main campus, Peili and Chengguan, and shares a set of campus information platform. Huawei FushionSphere virtualization + two sets of centralized storage in active and standby mode are used for early services, and 200+ service VMS are deployed to carry all campus information systems, and Qianxin security suite is used to meet basic security protection.

  • With the development of services for many years, the computing resources on the original platform are almost full, the storage space usage exceeds 85%, and the active/standby asynchronous backup is not complete. At the same time, backup of the standby storage device has basically stopped due to many disk and device faults in an old age.

  • There is an urgent need to optimize the current information infrastructure base and centrally manage all resources through a unified base.

Demand challenge

  • The computing and centralized storage resources of the original virtualization platform are severely insufficient, and expansion is limited due to faults.

  • The base of the information technology foundation should smoothly provide centralized management and control of sufficient computing, storage, cloud desktop, cloud security, and backup resources and unified operation and maintenance management to support multi-campus service deployment in the next five years.

  • Migrate 200 VMS from the original virtualization platform to the cloud platform, and build a cross-data center disaster recovery platform to ensure service backup and data security.

  • The original platform has not been certified for safety assurance, and the overall protection ability of the platform is insufficient, so it is necessary to ensure that the construction meets the level three requirements of equality assurance.
